Experience
God’s Call to Ministry
Following his conversion in March 1998, Peter developed a heart for the ministry and began serving as a young Sunday school teacher at a local church in a remote village in Chin State. Two years later, in 2000, he decided to pursue theological education in Yangon to prepare himself for the ministry.

In 2002, during his theological studies, Peter discovered God’s purpose for his life. He was involved in part-time ministry as a Student Librarian at a theological seminary, as a youth worker at a local church in Yangon, and he also went on short-term mission trips to various parts of Myanmar.
In 2007, Peter discerned his God-given purpose for Agape Vision to glorify God by catalyzing transformational development through living out the Great Commandment and fulfilling the Great Commission in everyday life.
In 2009, Peter founded Agape Vision in pursuit of God’s calling on his life. Peter’s God-given calling to ministry was first confirmed by his granduncle, Rev. Dr. Robert Thawng Hlai, the late founding minister and Senior Pastor of Chin Baptist Church of Yangon, through the laying on of hands to set him apart for God’s purpose.
In February 2018, after nine years of full-time ministry, Peter was officially ordained to the ministry with ecclesiastical authority to perform ministerial functions and official recognition of his God-given calling to ministry and God’s choice of leadership through the laying on of hands by Senior Leaders from Myanmar Gospel Baptist Convention, Gospel Baptist Churches of USA Convention, and the Faculty of Gospel Baptist Bible Seminary, a biblically recognized group of church leaders who have the authority to ordain men to the ministry.
