Peter T. Mang is an ordained minister, visionary strategist, catalyst, discipler, missional entrepreneur, ministry consultant, life and career coach, executive and leadership coach, leadership development facilitator, business development facilitator, master trainer, biblical counselor, professional mentor, and transformational leader for transformational development.

I have over a decade of experience in church planting, ministry leadership, and parachurch and nonprofit leadership. I love working with individuals, families, churches, and organizations in catalyzing personal and professional development, spiritual and moral formation, children and youth development, family health and wellbeing, leadership and team development, church planting and multiplication, education transformation, organizational development, entrepreneurship and business development, and community development.

I serve as founder and president of Agape Church Planting, founder and president of the Association of Independent Churches of Myanmar, and founder and president of Agape Initiatives, and CEO and founder of Agape Group. I enjoy volunteering with international organizations at the local, national, and international levels.

My Values: I am a person of faith, truth, character, action, and influence who aspires to live by faith, walk in truth, lead with character, act with integrity, and serve in love. I believe in values-based, purpose-driven, authentic, servant, and steward leadership. As a transformational leader, I lead from the inside out with truth and grace. I cultivate a high-trust culture, responsibility and accountability, collaboration and teamwork, authentic relationships, holistic transformation, and sustainable development.

My Purpose: Living intentionally the life God has called me to live, my purpose in life is to love God, love people, and make disciples. I am dedicated to infusing faith, hope, and love into people and culture, helping transform the lives of people through lifelong learning, developing a new generation of transformational leaders, and empowering people to pursue their calling and fulfill God’s purpose for their lives.

My life motto is: “Enjoy Life, Glorify God”.

My Passion: My passion is to glorify God by transforming lives, developing leaders, and empowering people through catalyzing transformational development to accelerate the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Vision Statement: I envisioned “agape love” movement to catalyze transformational development to bring God’s redemptive love, transforming truth, living hope, and abundant life to people groups.

There is no greater joy than seeing someone get saved, live a transformed life, pursue their purpose in life, grow as a disciple and a leader, and lead a fulfilling life.

Mission Statement: My mission is to help people find their purpose in life, transform people’s lives for the better, equip and develop a new generation of transformational leaders, and inspire and empower people to live intentionally and become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

My life goal is to glorify God by catalyzing transformational development for holistic transformation and sustainable development.

My Background

I was born in 1984 in a remote village in Falam township, Chin State, Myanmar to a self-employed businessman father and a headmistress mother. I have seven siblings, three brothers and four sisters, and I’m the second eldest son. I studied high school in Chin State. And I learned to grow a wide variety of crops and diversified vegetable farms in Chin State.

How I Became a Born-Again Believer

Growing up in a Christian family, I was told Bible stories in children’s Sunday school and attended local churches, but I did not have a personal relationship with God. Only at the of 14, I had the opportunity to hear the authentic gospel and came to know Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord and responded in repentance and faith. I have been saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

I found the meaning and purpose of my life in Jesus Christ. He has given me a desire to serve Him and bring His redemptive love, transforming grace, living hope, and abundant life to people groups. The Lord gave me a burden to provide gospel access to the unreached people of Myanmar.

God’s Call to Ministry

Following my conversion, I began to serve as a young Sunday school teacher in a local church in a remote village in Chin State. Two years later, in 2000, I decided to pursue a theological education in Yangon to prepare myself for the ministry when I was 16.

It was in 1998 I began to have a heart to serve in ministry, and in 2002, during my theological study, I discovered God’s purpose for my life, and in 2007, I discerned my God-given Agape Vision to catalyze transformational development movement that will bring God’s redemptive love, transforming truth, living hope, and abundant life to people groups, then in 2009, I began to pursue God’s calling on my life.

My life was not perfect. There was a time when I turned away from God. I dropped out of theological seminary in my MDiv second year in 2006 and started my career in recruitment and foreign employment services from a humble beginning in March 2007. It was operated for 2 years and closed in June 2009, since God has led me in a divine direction to fulfill His purpose for my life. During that time, I was stubborn, rebellious, and resistant to God’s call, and lived a miserable life. But God is always faithful, gracious, and merciful, and His love never fails me.

With a broken heart and contrite spirit and true repentance, having a changed heart and mind, and living a transformed life, I rededicated my life to God on June 28, 2009, to respond to His call and fulfill His purpose for my life. And God brought forth Agape Vision into existence for such a time as this.

My God-given Agape Vision

In early 2007, God implanted in me the vision for LOVE NEVER FAILS™, a God-given Agape Vision to catalyze a transformational development movement that will bring God’s redemptive love, transforming truth, living hope, and abundant life to people groups.

At a Glance: In March 2007, I began my career in recruitment and started Agape recruitment and employment service from a humble beginning. In June 2009, the Agape evangelistic ministry started from humble beginnings and later initiated seven Agape parachurch ministries and merged into Agape Initiatives in 2018. Since then, it has grown into a national movement with multifaceted transformational development initiatives that bring redemptive love, transforming truth, living hope, and abundant life to people groups. In September 2011, Agape Church Planting was started at the initiative of Agape Mission with the vision of planting a healthy church in every community in Myanmar. In March 2018, Peter Mang Company Ltd. was founded as an incorporated parent company of Agape Group and its subsidiaries. In February 2019, Agape Church Planting Network was formed at the initiative of Agape Mission with the purpose of strengthening leaders, mobilizing churches, and multiplying churches to accelerate the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Christ’s love compelled me to do “greater works” He has called me to do.

Agape Vision

My Family

Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” As I began pursuing God’s calling into ministry, I needed someone who will work with me as a partner in ministry. Therefore, I asked God for a wife and He gave me the love of my life. In July 2009, I married to Alice and God has blessed us with two fine and fabulous sons, Joshua Mang and Joseph Mang, and a fine and beautiful daughter, Janice Mang.

My wife Alice and I prayerfully prepared to do greater works God called us to do. We started with 40 days of prayer and half-day fasting to truly rely on God by trusting He will fulfill His purpose and committing ourselves to live in obedience to the Great Commandment (Matt. 22:37- 40) and the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20). Alice and I are grateful for the privilege of being called into full-time ministry.

I am convinced that God established a fine family and that He uses our trials to mold and shape us for His own purpose, and He makes us into what He intended for our marriage and family. My family is truly a gift from God. I am always thankful for my family. We live in Yangon, Myanmar.

Becoming an Ordained Minister

In 2009, the year Agape started, my God’s call to the ministry was first confirmed by my granduncle, Rev. Dr. Robert Thawng Hlai, the late founding minister and senior pastor of Chin Baptist Church of Yangon, through the laying on of hands to set me apart for the gospel ministry.

In February 2018, I was officially ordained to the gospel ministry with ministerial authority and official recognition of my God’s call to ministry through the laying on of hands by Senior Leaders from Myanmar Gospel Baptist Churches of USA Convention, and the Faculty of Gospel Baptist Bible Seminary (Ordination Council), a Biblically recognized group of church leaders who have the authority to ordain men to the ministry.

My Professional Calling

I began my professional career in recruitment from a humble beginning in March 2007. I am called to missional entrepreneurship to glorify God by catalyzing transformational development for holistic transformation and sustainable growth through my profession of entrepreneurship and business development. As a natural-born entrepreneur, I am a self-starter who works on my own initiative and through a right discernment of God’s leadership.

In 2015, I founded Agape Entrepreneurship Association a network of transformational entrepreneurs and kingdom investors committed to creating wealth and generating sustainable solutions to local real problems through entrepreneurship.

In March 2018, I founded Peter Mang Company Ltd. an incorporated parent company of Agape Group and its subsidiaries Agape Education Services, Agape Family Health and Wellness, Agape Family Investments, Agape Startup Incubation Services, Agape Freelance Services, and Agape Lifeway Consulting, Counseling, Coaching, and Mentoring.

Agape Group is a non-profit missional enterprise dedicated to providing specialized professional services to bring solutions to real-life problems and make a difference in people’s lives, the community, and the world. Our mission is to catalyze transformational development for holistic transformation and sustainable development.

In 2019, I also founded BAM Myanmar Network which exists to accelerate a business as mission movement in Myanmar by connecting Christian professionals, missional entrepreneurs, and BAM practitioners to create Kingdom impact through business.

I have trained, coached, and mentored dozens of missional entrepreneurs and bi-vocational ministers through our micro and small business development initiative.

Agape Church Planting

In 2009, I began to serve as an itinerant Evangelist, sharing the gospel with unreached people in remote villages and cities across Ayeyarwady Region. In 2011, I began pursuing God’s call to church planting and planted house churches in Yangon.

In September 2011, I started Agape Church Planting at the initiative of Agape Mission with the vision of planting a healthy church in every community in Myanmar. Our church planting initiative has launched Vision 2030 with the goal of planting 300 healthy churches among unreached people across the country by the end of 2030.

In May 2022, I founded the Association of Independent Churches in Myanmar, a voluntary association of independent churches working together to accelerate church planting among unreached people. Our passion is to glorify God by reaching the unreached with the gospel of Jesus Christ through planting a healthy church in every community in Myanmar.

Agape Initiatives

In pursuit of my God-given Agape Vision and God’s calling on my life, I founded Agape Initiatives with a vision to catalyze agape love transformational development movement that will bring redemptive love, transforming truth, living hope, and abundant life to people groups.

Agape Initiatives is a faith-based national movement with multifaceted transformational development initiatives dedicated to accelerating the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

The multifaceted transformational development initiatives include Agape Mission, Agape Discipleship, Agape Entrepreneurship, Agape Development Foundation, Agape Children and Youth, Agape Resources, and Agape Leadership University.

As the catalyst for transformational development movement, we commit ourselves to live in obedience to the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).

Agape Mission

Founded in 2009, Agape Mission Alliance is a family of mission mobilizers, church planters, and churches working to accelerate church planting movements through mobilizing local churches, equipping and empowering church planters, and planting multiplying churches among unreached people.

Agape Discipleship Alliance exists to provide disciplers and churches with resources, training, strategies, and tools for effective evangelism and discipleship to accelerate church growth.

Agape Entrepreneurship

Founded in 2015, Agape Entrepreneurship Association is a network of transformational entrepreneurs and missional impact investors committed to creating wealth and generating sustainable solutions to local real problems through entrepreneurship.

Agape Entrepreneurship Association exists to engage, equip, and empower missional entrepreneurs, create business opportunities, build transformational entrepreneurship ecosystem, and accelerate micro, small and medium enterprises development.

Founded in 2016, Agape Development Foundation is a fundraiser for Agape Initiatives and its multifaceted transformational development initiatives.

Founded in 2016, Agape Resources Organization is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making resources accessible for leaders, churches, organizations, local ministries, and businesses.

Agape Resources Organization exists to mobilize resources, coordinate multifaceted transformational initiatives, and increase access to resources.

Founded in 2017, Agape Youth Alliance is a community of practice who are committed to providing a holistic approach to children and youth development.

Agape Youth Alliance exists to advocate to ensure that all vulnerable children and youth have access to the resources, education, and supports they need to thrive.

Founded as Agape Institute in 2017, Agape Leadership University is a private Christian university in Yangon, Myanmar. The mission of Agape Leadership University is to provide quality and affordable higher education for transformational leaders.

Agape Leadership University is committed to offering world-class executive education, graduate education, continuing education, professional education, vocational education, and technical training in collaboration with our international partner institutions. We envision a leading private Christian university in Myanmar.
