My Background

I was born and raised in a Christian family, spent my childhood in remote villages within Falam Township, Chin State in western Myanmar. My father is a retired self-employed businessman and my mother is a retired primary school headmistress. I have seven siblings, three brothers and four sisters, and I’m the second eldest son. I studied high school in Chin State. And I learned to grow a wide variety of crops and diversified vegetable farms in Chin State.

How I Became a Born-Again Believer: Growing up in a Christian family, I was taught the Bible and have attended Children’s Sunday school and a church, but had never felt that I have real joy and peace in my life until I have a personal relationship with God when I was 14. I had the opportunity to hear the authentic gospel and came to know Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord and follow Him. Since then, my life was changed and I began to experience real joy and peace in my life.

I found the meaning and purpose of my life through Jesus Christ. He has given me a desire to serve Him and bring His redemptive love, transforming grace, living hope, and abundant life to people groups. In the year 2000, I moved into Yangon to pursue theological education when I was 16.

God’s Call to Ministry: I began to serve in Children’s ministry as a young Sunday school teacher in my teenage years. It was since 1998 I had a desire to serve in ministry, and in 2002 I realized God’s call to the ministry, and in 2007 I discovered my God-given vision, then in 2009, I came in full realization of my unique God-given calling and the specific purpose God has for my life.

But my life was not perfect. There was a time when I turned away from God. So, I dropped out of theological seminary in my MDiv second year in 2006 and started my career in recruitment and foreign employment services from a humble beginning in March 2007. It was operated for 2 years and closed in June 2009. During that time, I was stubborn, rebellious, and resistant to God’s call, and lived a miserable life. But God is always faithful, gracious, merciful, and His love never fails me. With a broken heart and contrite spirit, having a changed heart and mind, and living a transformed life, I rededicated my life to God on June 28, 2009, to respond to His call and fulfill His purpose for my life. And on that day Agape begins to exist for such a time as this.

My Family: Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” I asked God for a wife and He gave me the love of my life. My wife Alice and I have been married since 2009 and God has blessed us with two fine and fabulous sons, Joshua Mang and Joseph Mang, and a fine and beautiful daughter, Janice Mang. I am convinced that God established a fine family that He uses our trials to mold and shape us for His own purpose, and He makes us into what He intended for our marriage and family. I am always thankful for my family. We live in Yangon, Myanmar.

My Profession and Career: I began my professional career from a humble beginning in March 2007. As a bi-vocational minister, transformational entrepreneur, I am called to marketplace leadership through my profession of entrepreneurship development and micro and small business development. As a natural-born entrepreneur, I am a self-starter who works on my own initiative and through a right discern of God’s leadership. I worked my way up and went from a waiter to a business owner, from entrepreneur to investor, from business trainer to ecosystem builder, and from business leader to executive coach.

As an entrepreneur and investor, I founded Peter Mang Company Ltd., a family enterprise that catalyzes transformational development to empower holistic transformation and accelerate sustainable development. Its subsidiaries include Agape Family Health and Wellness, Agape Family Investments, Agape Lifeway Consulting, Agape Education Services, and Peter Mang Team (Coaching, Mentoring, Counseling, Consulting, and Freelance Services).

I founded Agape Entrepreneurship Association a network of transformational entrepreneurs committed to creating wealth and generating sustainable solutions to local real problems through entrepreneurship ecosystem development in Myanmar. I have trained, coached, and mentored dozens of entrepreneurs and bi-vocational ministers through our Micro and Small Business Development Initiative.

Pastoral Ministry Experience: I enjoy being a Pastor as a Life Coach and Shepherd. As a Life Coach, my mission is to help people from all walks of life find their life’s true purpose, pursue their unique God-given vision and calling, live their life with purpose and mission, and lead their life, family, ministry, and business for the glory of God. And as a Shepherd, my utmost responsibility is to lead, feed, nurture, comfort, discipline, protect and care for the people of God, which represents in the members of the local church and most of all “to equip God’s people for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ.”

Pursuing my calling, I began to serve as a church planter in Yangon in September 2011 and started a church in September 2012. Since then, I have had the privilege of serving as founding pastor of Agape Church Yangon, an independent and autonomous local community of faithful followers of Christ, functioning through small groups and house churches in Yangon, Myanmar.

My Unique God-given Vision: In earlier 2007, God has implanted in me the vision for LOVE NEVER FAILS™, a God-given vision to initiate an agape love movement that will bring redemptive love, transforming grace, living hope, and abundant life to people groups. With true brokenness and a life-changing moment on Sunday, June 28, 2009, God brought forth my unique God-given vision to initiate a transformational development movement.

Nonprofit Leadership Experiences: Following my unique God-given vision and calling, I have initiated an emerging transformational development movement that accelerates the fulfillment of the Great Commission. I founded seven multifaceted transformational development initiatives banded together as Agape Initiatives Movement.
